THOMSON and REUTERS have agreed to a merger, forming the new Thomson-Reuters. The deal will face regulatory scrutiny.

DISCOVERY plans an aggressive mobile video play. The company will launch 14 original mobile series this year. The content will be seen on Discovery Mobile.

IAC is acquiring a “significant stake” in a major artist-management company, Front Line Management. IAC, which owns TicketMaster, will now hold a large amount of control over live music performance.

FORD has committed to an “upfront” online ad buy. It has committed to 12 months with Specific Media, the online “behavioral targeting ad network.”

MYSPACE will launch branded channels for The New York Times, National Geographic, and a host of other content providers.

PEARSON has agreed to purchase eCollege.com for $477 Million. The site provides online educational programs.
