BSOD, the blue screen of death, has become the universal metaphor for an unscheduled operational collapse. When it happens to your Windows machine, you know you're in for a day that is only slightly more preferable than a root canal. When it happens systemically in the cloud… that's something else entirely. Continue Reading →
How smart is AI?
No one born today will ever live in a world where they are smarter than AI. But what does that really mean? Is there a way for human beings to understand how smart AI is? Is IQ a fair test? Is it even reasonable to apply ideas about human intelligence to machines? If IQ tests aren't right, how will we know when an AI model is smarter than we are? Continue Reading →
Generative AI Browsing The Web
I'm in Cannes this week for the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. It's a week-long celebration of excellence in branded communications and advertising. Let's explore. Continue Reading →

Synthia
What would it take to build your company's first synthetic employee? What AI models could you use? How much data will it require? What about compute power? Electricity? Technical resources? Security? Legal? Risk? Ethics? Is the idea simply too crazy to think about now? Should you just wait until someone invents artificial general intelligence (AGI)? Continue Reading →
