Facebook vs. Apple or “Godzilla vs. Kong”

Facebook says: “Facebook is speaking up for small businesses. Apple’s new iOS 14 policy will have a harmful impact on many small businesses that are struggling to stay afloat and on the free internet that we all rely on more than ever.”

Apple obviously disagrees.

At first, this looks like two gigantic corporations fighting each other about profits. Since both of these companies are hugely successful, you might feel like you can ignore the issue, as it’s just between them, and it really doesn’t matter to you who wins.

Except… this does matter to you. Apple is about to dramatically shift how advertisers and content creators can use data to put the right message in front of the right person at the right time. The impact will be felt by everyone. Take a minute to get familiar with the fight. It’s a good one.
