U.S. law-enforcement agencies are obtaining search warrants to access user’s Facebook accounts. The FBI, DEA and ICE have requested photos, wall posts and even rejected Friend requests. British authorities recently stated that al Qaeda has called for a “cyber jihad” after the death of Osama bin Laden. Google has launched a beta of its Offers program in San Francisco and New York City. Google Offers will provide email deals now ubiquitous with the likes of Groupon, as well as GPS-based coupons. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services plans to create online health insurance exchanges to help people find affordable coverage. Starting in 2014, people will be able to search a database of statewide plans, compare prices and submit questions. Google has been using its street view cars to help Japan survey the destruction caused by the recent tsunami.
