Facial Recognition
Police forces are preparing to use hand-held facial-recognition devices starting as early as September. The device attaches to an iPhone and would allow officers to snap a picture, then immediately match someone’s face to their record. The technology could become as commonplace as taking fingerprints. Microsoft announced plans to expand its retail stores to 75 new locations within the next three years. Google recently revamped its Marketplace and now offers eBooks and movie rentals to its selection of downloads. Netflix recently announced that it’s separating streaming and physical rental plans and raising its prices. For $7.99 you can now choose either unlimited streaming or unlimited, one DVD at a time rentals. If you want to keep your DVD rentals and streaming, it will now cost you about $16.
