NYPD Creates Social Media Crime Unit


The NYPD recently announced that it created a task force to troll social media sites for clues of criminal activity in the real world. The police bet that if you’re dumb enough to commit a crime, you might just post about it on Facebook. Police in London are currently using social media sites to identify riots and looters.
