THE NTIA has contracted IBM to provide $120 million worth of services for the “Digital-to-Analog Converter Box Coupon Program.” Services will include consumer education, coupon distribution, and financial processing for coupons. The contract begins immediately, and will expire in September 2009.

FOX INTERACTIVE MEDIA will begin managing websites for 160 Fox-affiliated stations. The sites will adopt the MyFox platform and branding. FIM will have access to half the ad inventory on the sites, and will focus on selling to national advertisers.

AOL has launched Truveo.com, a new online video search tool. The site puts the Truveo video search technology front-and-center, seeking to create a new video destination site. AOL acquired Truveo in late 2006, and its technology works behind the scenes to power video search for Brightcove, AOL Video, Excite, and a large number of popular video sites.

BOLT.COM has shut down. The video sharing site started in 1996, well before the current online video boom. Bolt ran into trouble after being sued by Universal Music for copyright infringement. It agreed to be acquired by GoFish, but the deal soon fell through. A note on Bolt.com informs visitors that operations have ceased.

MYSPACE has dumped LIMELIGHT as its primary CDN. The social-networking site has chosen Akamai to fill its content delivery needs.
