By using content generators, spammers can publish over ten books a day, increasing their chances of being purchased. Barnes & Noble recently announced a new version of its e-reader the Nook, called The Simple Touch Reader. Amazon.com recently announced that Kindle e-books are finally outselling the printed editions. For every 100 paper books sold, Amazon sells 105 e-books, even when excluding those given away for free. Amazon released a cheaper ad-supported version of the Kindle over a month ago and it’s already the site’s bestseller. At $114 the “special offers” Kindle provides valuable coupons for downloadable content. The sales suggest that customers are willing to deal with relevant ads for a slight discount. DigiTimes.com reports that Amazon placed an order with Taiwan-based notebook manufacturer Quanta Computer for tablet PC parts. Quanta expects the product to start being shipped in the second half of 2011, producing about 750,000 units monthly.
