new report by McKinsey highlights a dramatic rise in global AI adoption (reaching 72% in 2024), which marks a significant increase from the previous year’s 50%. This growth is most notable in the Asia-Pacific region and China. Generative AI usage has doubled, with 65% of companies now integrating it into their operations. Key sectors like energy, technology, and media are leading this trend.

According to the report, custom AI solutions are becoming more common as they address specific business needs. Interestingly, while concerns about AI inaccuracies persist, fears of job displacement are diminishing. Importantly, companies implementing AI report substantial revenue boosts, especially in supply chain management.

I’m a big fan of McKinsey’s business reports. Perhaps my confirmation bias is kicking in, but this writing closely tracks what we’re hearing from our own clients. It’s worth a read.
