Google’s Gemini is Mountain View’s answer to GPT-4. According to The Information, Gemini was originally scheduled to debut next week at a series of events that have now been postponed until January.
Sundar announced Gemini at Google I/O in May 2023 by saying it “was created from the ground up to be multimodal, highly efficient at tool and API integrations and built to enable future innovations, like memory and planning. While still early, we’re already seeing impressive multimodal capabilities not seen in prior models. Once fine-tuned and rigorously tested for safety, Gemini will be available at various sizes and capabilities.”
In case you’re wondering… Gemini is being built to go head-to-head with OpenAI. Will it be a ChatGPT killer? We’ll have to wait until January to find out.
