Writing Your Own Blog is So Last Year

Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com, has introduced a new AI tool: the Jetpack AI Assistant. This plug-in is designed to generate and edit text, offering capabilities such as summarizing blog posts into headlines, adjusting the tone of text, and generating entire blog posts from a single prompt. Additionally, it can correct spelling and grammar errors and translate content between 12 languages.

While the Jetpack AI Assistant aims to streamline content creation, it also raises concerns about the potential for low-grade AI-generated spam and the impact on professional copywriters. Despite its innovative features, the tool has limitations. For instance, in Automattic’s demo, the exchange rates provided for a trip to Japan were outdated, highlighting the challenges of AI-generated content. Importantly, a fact-checker or subject matter expert would (and did) catch the error.

Jetpack AI Assistant can enhance your productivity, but it’s not a “press here and let it rip” solution. If you want to get the most out of your generative AI tools, please check out our free online course, Generative AI for Execs. You’ll increase your personal productivity while learning how AI can be applied to your business.
