Ticketmaster selects Flow blockchain for its NFTs

Ticketmaster (a Live Nation subsidiary) has selected Dapper Labs’s Flow blockchain to mint the NFTs of its digital collectible commemorative tickets (which are not valid for entry to events). You’ll still need to have a regular digital ticket with a Ticketmaster or Live Nation barcode to get into a venue. Said differently, Ticketmaster is now in some version of the “NFT as proof of attendance business.” This is going to be interesting.

Will concert artists grant rights to Ticketmaster to use their names and likenesses on digital collectibles? How about sports leagues? Other event promoters who use Ticketmaster’s services? Most of our clients who sell tickets are working on blockchain-based long-term fan development strategies, so it will be fun to see where this fits in.
