Shelly Palmer Radio Report – October 18, 2013

If you’ve ever wanted breaking news delivered to you as it happens, Twitter has you covered. A new account called @EventParrot popped up on Twitter this week; this account delivers ‘direct messages that help you keep up with what’s happening in the world’. The account sends out headlines and links to news articles from other sites, like CNN, to help keep you in the loop with what’s going on in the world. The account is very similar to another experimental on Twitter, @MagicRecs, which send personalized recommendations via direct message for users and content you might like. @MagicRecs was so successful that Twitter added push recommendations for follow suggestions and ‘interesting tweets’ into one of its most recent updates. Twitter is trying to become one-stop shopping for everything you want to do on the internet, and has taken several steps recently to make you feel like your account is tailored to you specifically. What are you waiting for? Follow @EventParrot and stay up-to-date with what’s happening in the news!
