Have you been eagerly awaiting the arrival of txtr’s $13 ereader and rationalizing its lack of fancy features with the fact that it’ll cost next to nothing? Too bad, suckers! The German company has announced that its oddly named Beagle ereader will actually be retailing in the US for a hearty $70. You’re essentially paying for a basic Kindle, but without all that superfluous crap like Wi-Fi and touch screens and backlights and basic functionality. Enticing! So for now at least, it seems our dreams of forking over chump change in exchange for an ereader will remain dashed. Good prank, textr. Good prank.
