Samsung Aims for Social Fun, Shoots Self in Foot

I’m not sure who at Samsung thought this would be a good idea, but the company recently got all social and asked Facebook users which electronic gadget they’d want if they were stranded on an island. (Let’s pause here for a second. How long have you been using the Internet? Longer than a week or so? Okay, you already know what’s coming.) The poll did pretty well, pulling in 11,000 responses. But, as you would think corporate social specialists would have learned, the masses tend to go off script, and a whole lot of those responses were from people snorting and saying they’d bring Apple’s iPhone or iPad.
