A group of Chinese hackers infiltrated the computers systems of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The group gained access to every piece of data on its systems, including information about its roughly three million members. It’s possible that hackers had access to the system for a full year before the discovery. In other news, Microsoft announced that this year would be its last for attending the Consumer Electronics Show. The company had been a key participant of the event for the past 20-years, regularly giving the keynote. CEO Steve Ballmer will give Microsoft’s last keynote January 9th. And finally, Amazon released a software update to the Kindle Fire that hopes to satisfy early user complaints. The update improves sensitivity to the touch screen and adds parental controls like limiting what content is viewable from the home screen.
