Netflix announced that it’s splitting up its services into two separate companies. The DVD-by-mail service will now be known as Qwikster, while online streaming service will keep the Netflix moniker. Qwikster will also rent videogames, but having two separate sites and services could drive away even more customers. In other news, a survey by the Pew Research found that text messaging is the preferred method of contact for 31% of U.S. adults. The super-group of texters is unsurprisingly 18-24 year olds, who send a whopping average of nearly 110 text messages a day. The daily average for all adults is nearly 42 messages. And finally, the U.S. government has launched a paid two-year Technology Fellows program to help increase the amount of qualified IT professionals. To apply, you must be in the process of completing a masters or doctorate degree.
