A top general in the U.S. Marine Corps recently stated that the Defense Department’s IT capabilities are as advanced as the Stone Age. According to Congressional investigations, the completion rate of IT projects is an abysmal 16%. 53% of projects come in late and over budget by almost two times the original cost. In other news, the Taliban claims that reports of its leader Mullah Omar’s death were fabrications. The group asserted that its telephones and websites had been compromised and fake information was disseminated. Taliban’s spokesman stated that Mullah Omar is still alive and directing the Taliban within Afghanistan. And finally, a new survey of over 1,000 people revealed that a large percentage of respondents digitally snoop on their significant others. 37% of married people admitted to checking their spouse’s email or phone history. 59% of parents said they would secretly track their children using an electronic device.
