Apple Is Suing Motorola
Apple is suing Motorola for infringing upon three of its iPhone patents. Apple claims that Motorola’s Droid uses Apple’s touchscreen software and other display technologies. According to Apple, Motorola’s activities “have caused and will continue to cause Apple irreparable harm.”
AOL Redesigns Its Homepage
AOL has redesigned its homepage in hopes of attracting more advertisers. While market research company comScore says that unique visitors to AOL’s homepage have declined by 27 percent since January 2010, AOL hopes its original news and video content will help make the site a more interesting and popular destination.
YouTube’s CEO Steps Down
YouTube’s Co-Founder Chad Hurley is stepping down as CEO. Hurley started the company five years ago with two friends and built a company that boasts 2 billion video views per day. Hurley’s resignation comes as YouTube’s owner, Google, has brought in key executives who have taken a larger role in running the company.
Dating Site For The Ugly Ducks
Dating sites like match.com and eHarmony aren’t for everyone. The Ugly Bug Ball is a dating site for people who aren’t as beautiful on the outside as they are perhaps on the inside. The company has just announced the first engagement of two of its members. The happy couple will receive a honeymoon, compliments of the site.
