Google TV Coming This Fall
This Fall Google will launch a free service to bring Internet browsing to the TV screen. Google is working with a variety of content providers and consumer electronics manufacturers, like Sony, on the launch. Apple TV and now Google TV coming to your home this fall.

$7 Billion Later – Public Safety Radio, Not Effective
During both the catastrophes at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 and during Hurricane Katrina, one of the biggest issues was the inability of firefighters and police officers to communicate with each other on their radios. Despite the $7 billion in grants allocated to improve public safety radio, experts claim the U.S. is still years away from having an effective nationwide public safety radio communication system.

Twitter Saves Man Held Captive in Afghanistan
A Japanese journalist, Kosuke Tsuneoka, who was being held captive in Afghanistan, used the cell phone of one of the soldiers holding him prisoner, to tweet his location. Tsuneoka sent two tweets that read, “i am still alive, but in jail” and “here is archi in kunduz. in the jail of commander lativ.” Tsuneoka was released the next day after being held prisoner for six months.

Android to Dominate Smartphone Market
With so many Android devices being deployed, Google’s Android operating system will be on over half of the smartphones in the market, according to a new report from Piper Jaffray. Apple’s iOS will represent 20-30 percent of the market. What about competitors like RIM and Nokia? Some analysts believe they’ll be pressured to adopt Android’s OS as well.
