Hackers Hit Taliban

June 11, 2010 – Today’s most interesting stories in technology, media and entertainment:

AT&T Showing Some iPhone Love: AT&T and Apple are offering a little price protection to people who purchased an iPhone 3GS back in May. There are various refund and upgrade plans. Get the details at ATT.com.

Facebook Really Cares: The PTA and Facebook are creating a new cyberbullying initiative. The partnership noted that it will “provide information, support and news to encourage citizenship online, reduce cyberbullying and advance Internet safety and security.” A Facebook spokesperson said, “Nothing is more important to us than the safety and well being of the people, especially the many teenagers, who use Facebook.” This is great news, just remember, cyber-security starts at home. If you have young kids, make sure you know what they’re doing online. Maybe they’re hacking the Taliban.

Hackers Hit Taliban: The infamous terrorist group issued a statement saying that the “group’s main site and the site of its online journal Al-Sumud, have been the subject of an ‘infiltration operation.’” Is this the future of counter-terrorism?
