Apple Bringing iPhone to Verizon

Today’s most interesting stories in technology, media and entertainment:

Waiting for Apple to finally release an iPhone for Verizon? Well, you may not have to wait much longer. The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Apple is currently developing two new iPhones to hit market this summer, and one will be its first non-AT&T smart phone. The new iPhone could be available to Verizon customers by this Summer.

Wi-Fi iPad’s will make their debut this week, but where will users find their wireless connection. Boingo is making that easier, by launching an app that not only identifies Boingo hotspots, but also lets users purchase instant access to available networks. Boingo will charge $1.99 for an hour of WiFi, however, an unlimited monthly service is available for $9.95 a month.

US Airways is about to equip its fleet with inflight WiFi. The airline will roll out Gogo Inflight service on five plane, before outfitting all A321s by the beginning of June. While US Airways is just one of the airlines bringing WiFi to the sky, the cost of usage is still expensive, and the service has been known to be lackluster, with users paying $12.95 for a few hours on a threadbare connection.

Google announced that users will now be able to transfer files through chats. The company will make the file transfers available to iGoogle and Orkut chatters, with plans to make it available to GMail users in time. While the data transfer cap is unknown, Google says users will be able to share music, pictures and even small videos through the software free transfer.
