A new study claims that despite the prevalence of ear buds, iPods and portable music devices, adult hearing loss is not rising. The long term study to be published in the American Journal of Epidemiology tested the hearing of thousands of subjects over the course of five years and found that hearing loss did not rise along with the popularity of mobile music players. Weihai Zhan, who helped conduct the survey, noted that, “the prevalence of hearing impairment is decreasing across the generation.”

The New York Times is scheduled to unveil a pay system for its website. The Times is expected to reveal its plan in the coming weeks, with reports noting that the NYTimes.com will ask users to pay for content after viewing a free pages. Sources are noting that the new pay model may come around the time of the expected Apple Tablet announcement, and that the model may include a version for the rumored device.

AT&T and Verizon are in a price dropping war. Verizon’s new unlimited plan will now cost customers $69 for talk and $89 for talk and text, while AT&T’s plan will run $69 for unlimited talk and $99.99 for unlimited talk and data. Users will be able to upgrade to the new packages today without having to extend their contract or pay an additional fee.
