As it comes down to the wire, News Corp COO Chase Carey announced that he does not believe Fox will get a deal done with Time Warner Cable by midnight tonight. Fox wants the cable company to pay $1 per subscriber, however, while TWC is in the midst of a “get tough or roll over” campaign, it looks like cable subscribers may lose out. If a deal is not reached, millions of viewers will go without local Fox stations, including WNYW in New York.

AT&T wants the government get rid of its old phone network. The network said that if the government wants to get the best of the future high speed broadband network it needs to get rid of the current Public Switched Telephone Network. AT&T claims that if the system isn’t put to rest, it will harm the development and implimentation of the new high speed broadband system.

Reports are coming out that not only will Palm’s Pre hit Verizon in the new year, but so will the new Pixi. Both phones will be known as the Pre Plus and the Pixi Plus when they hit America’s largest wireless network. While little is known about what the new Plus versions of the phone will bring, many speculate that Palm’s webOS system will receive an upgrade, as well as other perks.
