Microsoft and T-Mobile are trying to explain to Sidekick users why all of their information has been lost. Over the weekend, a technical issue caused T-Mobile Sidekick users to lose all of their stored contacts, photos and other data saved on the mobile device. The move is another untimely snafu for Microsoft, who is getting very serious about improving its Windows Mobile service, and is set to expand its presence in the smart phone market.
Lufthansa is set to announce a new initiative that would give passengers the most wireless in-flight communications available. The project, which the airline has partnered with Panasnic to develop, will not only let passengers make phone calls while in-flight, it was also allow provide a strong enough connection for users to download video and properly surf the web. Lufthansa will make the new offering available in both the United States and Europe.
The FCC is expanding its investigation into Google Voice. The Federal Communications Commission wants to know why Google has been blocking some long distance calls made on its Google Voice service. The inquiry seeks to find exactly how Google routes calls on the service, as well as why specific phone calls have been blocked.
Couples Retreat took top billing at the box office this weekend grossing approximately $35.3 million. The Universal comedy beat out reigning champs Zombieland and Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, which earned $15 million and $12 million respectively. Analysts believe the box office will receive an increase in earnings this coming weekend when the adaptation of Where the Wild Things Are hits theaters.
