PLASTIC LOGIC is set to unveil an electronic newspaper similar to AMAZON’s (NASD: AMZN) Kindle. The as-yet-to-be-named product can update wirelessly, as well as save bookmarked articles from the past. The Plastic Logic has a screen 2.5 times the size of the Kindle and could potentially open new revenue streams for struggling newspapers.

BILL GATES has unloaded over $1 billion in MICROSOFT (NASD: MSFT) stock so far in 2008. According to the New York Post, at the current rate Gates will sell his last share of MSFT at the age of 64. GATES, whose share in Microsoft is valued at $20.5 billion, has been using the money to aid his philanthropical efforts as part of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

The FCC may auction off the public safety portion of 700MHz band. The portion was up for auction in March, but went unpurchased as communications companies couldn’t figure out how to make a profit on the public safety space. The new auction will include national, as well as regional licenses, and access to WiMax and Long Term Evolution high speed wireless systems.

MICHAEL MOORE’s new film “Slacker Uprising” will debut online for free. The film is believed to be the first film to premiere online before major theatrical distribution, DVD or TV broadcast.
