TIME WARNER may reduce its cable holdings. Under such a plan, the company would focus on being a content provider, with a growing focus on web businesses. The cable pullback will be discussed at an upcoming board meeting.

GOOGLE plans a new copyright-filtering service, dubbed Claim Your Content. The service, which will allow automatic removal of copyrighted clips, is in testing with “major partners.”

The Copyright Royalty Board has rejected an appeal by Internet Radio Broadcasters to overturn a royalty hike. The new rates threaten to drive most Internet radio stations out of business.

COMCAST will distribute content for the upcoming NBC Universal – News Corp. online video service. Videos will be available on Comcast.net and Fancast.com.

TELLME has announced a free 411 business directory, available by voice, SMS, and mobile web. The voice service is available at 1.800.555.TELL. Google entered this space recently, with GOOG-411.
