ConsenSys, the company that owns MetaMask, has closed a $450 million funding round that values the New York City-based blockchain company at $7 billion. The company announced that MetaMask now has over 30 million monthly active users and its Infura blockchain infrastructure tool serves more than 430,000 developers.
Rumors of a MetaMask DAO and a token have been around for a while; as far as I can tell, both are still rumors. If you remember, my MetaMask wallet was hacked back in December. It was a humbling experience, but a very educational one. If you choose to use MetaMask, use it as a gateway to a hardware wallet.
