Apple is studying ways to make AirPods into a health device, including for enhancing hearing, reading body temperature and monitoring posture, according to documents reviewed by The Wall Street Journal and people familiar with the plans.

If these ideas become productized, Apple will be leading a consumer-facing trend toward using inexpensive sensors to turn raw data into actionable insights. Watch this closely; this kind of monitoring technology will open pathways to all kinds of health and wellness opportunities.
