Google One

Have you started hitting your caps on Gmail or Google cloud storage? Lots of people have. Alphabet (Google) took the email market by storm when it launched by offering more free storage than any of the competitive services. That seems to be completely over. The first 15 GB of storage is still free on Google One (the replacement for Drive), then you hit the $1.99/month plan up to 100 GB, then the sky’s the limit.

Google trained us not to delete emails or anything else for that matter. After all, storage was free. Or so cheap, we wouldn’t care.

According to Bloomberg, “If 10% of Gmail users sign up for the new $1.99 a month Google One subscription, that would generate almost $2.4 billion a year in annual, recurring sales for the company.” It’s good to be Google!
