CES 2014 Self-Guided Tour Exhibitor: ANT+

ANT+

ANT+ANT+ is the wireless technology that allows your monitoring devices to talk to each other. Leading brands design ANT+ into their top products to ensure that you get the data you want – when and where you want it. ANT+ gives you the simplest, most expandable and most reliable user experience possible.  If you’re using the Samsung Galaxy S4 or Note 3 – two of my favorite phones on the market today – you’ve been getting a glimpse of ANT+’s technology first-hand. The S4 includes native ANT+ support, which also helps out with the Samsung S Health app, linking more than 40 million users to the millions of available ANT+ health, sport and fitness devices. It all works very smoothly. Using an ANT+ enabled Tanita weight scale, for example, helps seamlessly transfer data to your Galaxy S4 or Note 3, as well as to a Garmin heart rate monitor. Available only on Android, the ANT+ Advantage makes it possible for you to use a variety of third party ANT+ apps at the same time. That makes sense because ANT+ stands for interoperability, which means that ANT+ products from multiple brands work together. Plus, because devices are compatible, you can always add to or update your monitoring system.  ANT is a proven protocol and silicon solution for ultra-low power (ULP) practical wireless networking applications, and it facilitates interoperability between ANT+ Alliance member devices and the collection, automatic transfer and tracking of sensor data.  ANT/ANT+ are managed by ANT Wireless, a division of Dynastream Innovations Inc. The ANT+ Alliance is an open special interest group of companies who have adopted the ANT+ promise of interoperability. The Alliance ensures standardized communications through optimized brand value and partnerships with other top tier products.
