Verizon Wireless announced that the company has won the Root Metrics award for top data performance as well as top combined network performance in the New York Metro region. This is the fifth consecutive time that Verizon has come out on top in this study.

RootMetrics also awarded Verizon for providing the strongest overall network performance at John F. Kennedy International Airport, LaGuardia Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport. Verizon’s coverage extends far beyond airports, though, as the company has invested more than $3 billion in the tri-state area since 2000 to provide customers with a fast, reliable mobile experience.
Earlier this year, a JD Power and Associates study ranked Verizon above all other national wireless providers in the Northeast Area.
RootMetrics, an independent data company dedicated to helping improve the mobile experience, conducted nearly 125,000 call, data and text tests to assess the networks of Verizon and competitors in New York City and the Tri-State Area.
