Target on Thursday confirmed it is launching its own brand of prepaid mobile service — Brightspot — which uses T-Mobile’s network. On its company blog, Target said that, starting Sunday, customers can get unlimited talk and texting for $35 per month. For $50 per month, Brightspot offers unlimited data, with high-speed data use capped at 1GB per month. Also, for each six months of service, customers will get a $25 Target gift card. “Target guests have been asking us for new mobile plan options to meet their changing needs, and Brightspot combines the flexibility of a pre-paid program with 4G data on one of the nation’s premier networks,” Target VP of Electronics John Butcher said in a statement. Customers can choose from a range of basic phones and smartphones, or bring their own compatible device. Those with Target’s Red Card credit card can save five percent per month off each bill.
