FacebookUpdate: A Facebook spokesperson has now been in touch to say that the problem should be fixed for all users: “Earlier this morning, while performing some network maintenance, we experienced an issue that prevented some users from posting to Facebook for a brief period of time. We resolved the issue quickly, and we are now back to 100%. We’re sorry for any inconvenience we may have caused.”

Original story: A number of Facebook users have taken to the Internet to query whether they are the only ones currently unable to post to Facebook. Please try again in a few minutes” and “The message could not be posted to this timeline”, meaning that, effectively, no new content or updates can be shared across the social network.
