Samsung Galaxy S IV ActiveApparently some of Samsung’s rugged Galaxy S4 Active phones aren’t quite as “everything-proof” as advertised. AT&T confirmed on Wednesday it has a program to replace Galaxy S4 Active phones that show evidence of water damage. Water resistance is among the key features touted for the device, which is also designed to resist dirt and generally be more hardy than its non-active counterpart. “Samsung designed and tested the Galaxy S4 Active to adhere to IP67 standards for water resistance (1 meter for 30 minutes),” AT&T spokesman Mark Siegel said in a statement. “If your Galaxy S4 Active has been damaged due to water exposure, bring it back to an AT&T retail store as soon as possible for a one-time exchange for another Galaxy S4 Active.” Samsung representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the cause of the issue or how widespread it might be.
