Aereo announced ambitious plans to launch in 22 new cities this year, and now it has just given details on the third city to receive the innovative streaming TV service. Atlanta residents will be able to access Aereo starting on June 17th — pre-registered customers will get an invite to join up for service that day, and it’ll be available to all potential customers in the area one week later. Aereo says its service will be available to over 5.3 million residents in the Atlanta metropolitan area and will follow availability in the wider New York City metropolitan area as well as Boston (which launches on Wednesday). This launch comes amidst a number of ongoing legal battles between Aereo and broadcast networks like CBS, Fox, and NBC Universal. That hasn’t stopped Aereo from making a number of expansions this year — though the company will need to roll things out quicker if its going to roll out to all 22 cities it promised earlier.
