Google has just announced the release of Playbook Guides, a new resource for YouTube creators making content in common categories like music, sports, education, media companies and non-profits. Augmenting its Creator Playbook, the original resource for YouTube best practices, Google says Playbook Guides offer “tailored tips and strategies specific to the type of content you create.” Here’s a quote: “As a music creator, maybe you’re wondering how to successfully release an album or song on YouTube. Or, if you’re a sports creator, maybe you’re stumped on how to program your content during the off-season. Don’t worry – we’ve got you covered.” This announcement is just a small part of Google’s larger content push on YouTube. The company has invested heavily in growing its catalog of high-quality content, in part to better compete with offerings from traditional TV studios.
