MLBMajor League Baseball is announcing on Thursday that it is working with Qualcomm to help its effort to improve wireless coverage within the league’s ballparks. Over the next two years, an engineering team from the San Diego-based tech company will help the league go stadium-by-stadium and assess the state of Wi-Fi and cellular coverage and help plan improvements. “Collaborating with an industry leader such as Qualcomm is a critical step in understanding and executing on the engineering challenges to achieve scalable, reliable in-venue connectivity,” Major League Baseball Advanced Media CTO Joe Inzerillo said in a statement. Baseball is also working with T-Mobile to modernize, among other things, the phones that connect the bullpens to the dugouts.
