A low-cost web platform called Treater now lets Facebook friends buy each other instant gifts that can be retrieved at local cafes, bars and establishments. You can already buy your pals cups of coffee with the Dunkin’ Donuts App. With Treater, the list of gifts that can be instantaneously redeemed with a smartphone grows to include games of bowling, movie tickets and spa treatments. There’s a wide range of options for men and women. Instead of sending a buddy an obligatory “Happy Birthday” wall post on their special day, Facebook users now have the option to send an inexpensive, yet meaningful gift.
