Google’s $12.5 billion acquisition of Motorola Mobility was approved by U.S. and European regulators. The acquisition adds 17,500 patents to Google’s arsenal along with 7,500 patent applications. The acquisition isn’t what worries regulators, but Google’s future use of the patents as litigation chips.
