Android has now overtaken Nokia’s Symbian as the most popular smartphone platform worldwide. Selling 33.3 million phones, double that of Apple’s iPhone, put Android ahead of Nokia’s 31 million sales. 89% growth in the smartphone market and manufacturers’ rapid adoption of Android has led to its overwhelming success.
