Windows 7 Phones Coming to AT&T
Microsoft hopes to effectively compete in the crowded smartphone market with its Windows Mobile 7 platform. Microsoft will be offering three new phones manufactured by HTC, Samsung and LG. AT&T will be the exclusive carrier in the U.S. and will begin selling the Windows 7 devices this November.

Cybercrime Ring of 60 People Caught & Charged
An international cybercrime ring responsible for using the Zeus Trojan and other malware to steal millions of dollars from U.S. bank accounts has been caught. On Thursday, U.S. Prosecutors charged 37 people involved with the cyber-heist. Charges included bank fraud, false use of passports and money laundering. Between federal and state charges, a total of 60 people have been identified and charged.

The Nokia N8 Finally Ships
In other smartphone news, Nokia has begun shipping its long-awaited N8 smartphone that runs its new Symbian 3 operating system. The most notable features are the 12-megapixel camera and the ability to record and play HD videos. Also, users can edit photos and videos directly from their phones and upload them directly to social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook. Preorders for the N8 are largest in Nokia’s history.

South Korea Works On Nationwide WiMax
South Korea may be the first country with nationwide WiMax coverage. South Korea is working with Intel to deploy nationwide WiMax by March 2011. The WiMax service will be available in 82 cities across the country, reaching approximately 85 percent of the population in South Korea.
