Best Buy customers in West Los Angeles will be able to check out the new Windows Store starting Wednesday. The Best Buy in West LA will be the next Best Buy outlet to provide a home for the new store-within-a-store focused on promoting and selling Microsoft products. The LA store will open at 10 a.m. PT on Wednesday, August 7, and will try to lure customers with Windows 8 product demos, food, drinks, a live DJ, and special giveaways. Starting at 3 p.m., the first 200 customers to demo a Windows 8 device in the Windows Store will get a wristband for a chance to meet soccer stars Clint Mathis and Mauricio Cienfuegos, two tickets to an upcoming LA Galaxy game, and a free signed soccer ball. Mathis and Cienfuegos will also kick off an an appearance at the store from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Announced in June, the Best Buy Windows Store offer a variety of Windows PCs and tablets, Windows Phone handsets, Xbox consoles, and Microsoft software.
