Marissa MayerTwo months after Yahoo restricted employees’ work-from-home option, it is giving its workers another perk: more paid leave for new parents. Yahoo is doubling the amount of paid leave time that new mothers are eligible to take, from eight weeks to 16 weeks, and letting new fathers take eight weeks of paid leave, as first reported by NBC Bay Area. That puts Yahoo more in line with other Silicon Valley companies like Google, which offers 22 weeks of paid maternity leave and seven weeks of paid maternity leave, and Facebook, which gives four months of paid leave to both new mothers and new fathers. “Over the last several months, we’ve introduced new benefits like free food to make Yahoos’ days easier, new smartphones to encourage innovation, and updated computers to speed productivity,” Yahoo said in a statement to Mashable, confirming the report.
