Intel

IntelAre we really living in a post-PC world?  There are hundreds of tablet and smartphone solutions, but – like last year, one of this year’s biggest stories is about Ultrabooks with Intel inside.

The Ultrabook story is going to be all over the Intel Exhibit.  Look for examples from your favorite computer manufacturers.  Of course, Intel doesn’t make Ultrabooks, it makes the computers and many of the other chips inside.  You should also have look at the All-In-One and Desktop systems powered by Intel, as well as the full array of Enterprise systems, servers and workstations on display.

Ask someone at Intel about its storage solutions and, if you’re a manufacturer or if you’re just interested in what’s on the drawing board, ask about Intel’s embedded products and chipsets. Intel is going to be “extremely” proud of its “Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition.  It is the crown jewel of Intel’s processor line this year.  You should also take some time to learn about the other chips Intel makes including its 3rd Gen Intel Core and Xeon line of processors.  If Intel is working on it now, you’ll see the technology used in products within the next few years.

Intel chips also power Smart TVs, Smartphones and Tablets, there are several on display.  Intel’s specialized chipsets allow for optimized video display and wireless connectivity which is why its chips are so popular in media creation and consumption devices.

Exploring what Intel is up to is one of the best ways to “predict” the future … because, if the technology will need a chip, chances are, the chip is going to be manufactured by Intel.
