Windows 7 Smartphones Unveiled
Microsoft CEO Steve Balmer unveiled the final version of the Windows 7 mobile operating system on Monday. The Windows 7 OS will run on 9 different smartphones from manufacturers like LG, Samsung and Dell. The new phones will premiere on AT&T’s network November 8th and will expand to T-Mobile, Verizon and Sprint in the next few months.

Will Apple Wait on 4G Compatible iPhones
Apple is reportedly going to wait before making iPhones that will work on AT&T or Verizon’s 4G networks. Sources say that Apple is concerned that the chips required for the LTE 4G standard would be too “bulky” or “power hungry.” Apple will likely wait until 2012 when the 4G network is completely rolled out to deploy 4G compatible devices.

Malaysians Have More Friends
Malaysians have the most friends on social networking sites and people in Japan have the least number of friends, according to the British research agency TNS. On average, Malaysians have 233 friends on social networks and spend 9 hours a week on the sites, compared to the Japnese who have 29 friends on average.

Are iPhone Apps Stealing TV Viewers?

“Is the iPhone the next American Idol?” The Flurry Network, maker of social games, believes that iPhone apps are competing directly with television networks for viewers. The Flurry Network boasts a daily audience of 19 million users who average 22 minutes per day on the site. Will the ad dollars follow?
