Apple's New iPod Touch

July 9, 2010 – Today’s most interesting stories in technology, media and entertainment:

New Micro-Telescope For People With Damaged Retinas: The FDA approved a new tiny telescope that is designed to be implanted in the eyes of people who have damaged retinas. The implant costs about $15,000, but 75% of patients tested noticed a major improvement in their sight.

The New iPod Touch: Recent signs of the new iPod Touch show that the device is now equipped with a front-facing camera and the FaceTime app. A UK retailer leaked the details, which showcase the new iPod Touch as an iPhone without the phone. With FaceTime over Wi-Fi, will you really need a phone? Of course, some people already think of an iPhone as an iPhone without the phone.

Comcast Pays For Broadband Traffic-shaping: Bit-throttled and traffic-shaped Comcast users who downloaded content from torrent sites between 2006 and 2008 are big winners in a recent class action lawsuit. They’ll each get about $16 from Comcast in the settlement. Was it worth it? I bet the lawyers think it was.
