Cablevision is set to being offering advertisers same-ad insertion over its cable network. Cablevision noted that soon advertisers will be able to notify the company of a new ad 24 hours prior to broadcast; the new creative will replace a previously slated commercial, which will run later. The goal is to make it easier for advertisers to tailor ads to certain demographics and will also make for quicker metrics.

Since Conan O’Brien’s debut as host of the Tonight Show, David Letterman has been topping the for Late Night host. The Late Show with David Letterman garnered a 3.4/8 MMH rating, while The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien took home a 2.9/7. Letterman’s program routinely lost out to former Tonight Show host Jay Leno’s broadcast. The late night wars begin again.

SAG members approved a new contract with the Association of Motion Picture and Television Producers. The agreement, which passed with approval from 78% of voting members, puts contractual negotiations which have been going on, and off, for a year to rest. The new deal expires in 2011, which means SAG will threaten to strike again in 2011.

A recent study by MTVN states that 15 second pre-roll ads are the best way to reach gamers. The study, recently conducted in Las Vegas, said 15 second pre-roll ads were more likely to be digested and remembered, as opposed to 30 second ads which were deemed more disruptive. A similar thing could be said of pre-roll ads in online videos.
