The Halloween Hackers

A ransomware gang has targeted Ferrara Candy, the confectionary responsible for producing 85 percent of the nation’s supply of candy corn (approximately seven billion pieces per year).

The good news is that the hackers clearly did not understand that the beloved old school Halloween treats are shipped to retailers months in advance of the holiday, so our sugar fix is safe. Our computers? Not so much. Ransomware attacks are at an all-time high; buy your IT peeps a super-sized sack of Brach’s Candy Corn and tell them you want more than a ghost of a chance when the Halloween hackers try to haunt your hard drive.
