AllCast

AllCastThe simple act of beaming something from your phone to a set-top box, like say a Roku, can be needlessly complicated. A new app called AllCast from developer ClockworkMod makes it super simple to view the photos and videos on your phone on virtually an connected TV platform. The AllCast demo video over on Google Play makes the app look very easy. After opening the app, it’ll automatically detect the devices connected to your network. Currently, AllCast supports basically everything but Google Chromecast: Roku, Apple TV, the Xbox 360 and Xbox One, Samsung Smart TVs and Panasonic Smart TVs, and Google TV devices. After you select the device to connect to, just select from your local photos and videos and, poof, there they are on your TV. Like Chromecast without the Chromecast (and the browser support). Everything should be this easy.
